Brad McNamara Joins Staff For 2022-23 Season As Strength & Conditioning Coach

The Weeks U18 Majors are excited to announce an addition to their staff today. Brad McNamara has been added as the teams Strength & Conditioning Coach for the 2022-23 season. 

McNamara joins the Weeks program with an extensive background in strength & conditioning & sports performance. He has been the Head Strength Coach/CoOwner of Athletes Nation One for over 15 years. 

Brad specializes in sport performance training where he has trained some of the top athletes in Canada in all speed & power sports, including many athletes from the NHL, CFL, AHL, UFC, WHL, QMJHL, NCAA to olympic Sports and amateur sports. McNamara is certified through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (CSCS - Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist) (Registered Strength & Conditioning Coach - RSCC). 

Most recently he has been working with athletes in Pictou County & has already made a hug impact on their development. Brad has also seen two of his athletes selected in the 1st round of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. Additionally, Pictou Country resident & former Weeks player Landon Sim who was drafted to the St. Louis Blues has also worked with McNamara. 

Head Coach & General Manager Kyle MacLennan is thrilled about the addition of McNamara to the program. “Brad is a great addition to our program & he is going to made a huge impact with our athletes. His experience & track record in his field speaks for itself & we have the utmost confidence that he is going to play a big role in player development this year. We are very proud of our on ice performance, player development & player advancement over the past few seasons & we continue to look for ways to bring the program to the next level. We as a program set high standards; we are looking to take a step in our on ice performance next season & most importantly continue to improve our player development process. The addition of Brad McNamara, we believe, will help us check both those boxes.” 

The Weeks U18 Majors open their 2022 training camp on August 20th.
